Well water testing bottles are available at the Village of Dunnottar Administrative Office.
It is recommended that private well owners have their well tested annually for bacteria.
There are two types of tests available to residents:
1. Bacteria (E.coli)
2. Mineral Composition
The Province of Manitoba currently subsidizes water testing for Bacteria (E.coli) through Duracan Labs located at 862 Dufferin Ave, Winnipeg MB. The cost of the subidized testing is currently $16.83+GST. This subsidy is available annually to all private well owners. It is important to note that samples have to be dropped off within 24 hours of collection.
Mineral Composition testing can be performed by Horizon Lab at 4055 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. They offer bacteria testing as well, however it is not at the subsidized rate. Rates for testing can be accessed below:
